Estoy Nueces

I always re-read the last entry before I write. A surprise to see I didn't think I'd get much done. Maybe that's the key: low expectations?

I got a LOT done on Saturday. I sorted through the stuff on this desk for hours and hauled lots of paper to the recycle bin. The desk is mostly clear now and all the stuff I took off of it is mostly sorted and stored in a findable manner. I got the whole house cleaned and dusted and vacuumed. I even made it to the grocery for Topo Chico and limes.

I ate with Jeff and Terri at Chuy's. It was really pleasant. I felt like the hick from the sticks, amazed at everything I saw. I was a lot like Mom when we'd take her out for a drive. She gawked at the trees and cars and sky...I'm the same kind of hermit, but without age to blame. We had a good dinner and came back here for a good visit. No one took me up on the Topo Chico. They loved my house and thought it was huge.

They told me about two TV shows on Netflix they've liked. Night Agent and The Last Kingdom. I watched a couple of Night Agents and MAN it is intense. I had to watch light stuff after to calm down. The Last Kingdom is a lot like Britannia, somewhat gory, but watchable.

Yesterday I really rested. The house was so clean I didn't feel guilty about any of it. I lay on the couch and read a lot of the afternoon (just a true crime book about a murder in Austin I don't remember). I did make a quiche for dinner that was very good and I look forward to more of it today.

I started to make some blueberry muffins from a recipe a friend sent. I had the ingredients and realized I don't have a pan! I got rid of a lot of the gunky pans in Austin. So I ordered a silicone one and I'll have it this week and see what I think. I haven't had any silicone cooking things except a spatula.

I was up early this morning and my show is done and it is now 9 a.m. and time to start the main job. I like being up early and not rushed. I wish I could just convince my nighttime mind that it's worth it.
