Estoy Nueces

I'm resigned to the fact that I'm not going to accomplish much today. No point even making the To Do list because I know only a few things will get done. I'm at least aiming for the house to look clean. Friends are going to see the house tonight. Very few people have seen the inside of my house. Tonight a couple I used to work with are going to come over after we have some dinner.

I did get up a bit early this morning for Coronation activities, but I missed most of it. They were coming back to the palace in the gold carriage when I tuned in. So I did see them on the balcony. I would have liked to have seen more of it, but I can't get the energy for Charles and Camilla. I've been up early for many royal occasions--starting with Diana's wedding--but not this one.

I did miss Mom a lot this morning. We have always called each other for big news and watched together (separately) for many things. I would have called her today to tell her to turn on her television. The night of Princess Diana's car crash, Mother and I were on the phone several times about it. We both felt guilty that my sister didn't know it was all going on until the next morning when her husband brought in the newspaper with the horrible headline. We felt so bad we hadn't included her. I still feel bad. But today I just missed Mom being on the end of the phoneline.

I think maybe I'll set a time and see how much I can get done clearing off this desk. It is a mess because I keep putting extra things on it. Lots of photos and pieces of paper I found in a box from the garage. Lots of cards and mail. Stuff. Stuff. Stuff. Genealogy. My ADHD is already telling me I should put the sheets in the washer now before I start that. Or get dressed. Or eat, brush my teeth, on and on.

Man. I am moving slow.
