Weekend

Early in the morning because I'm still waking up at the gawd-awful wake-up time apparently. This is a habit I hope to soon break.

Nice weekend with the sister and the nephews here for most of it. We did nothing but eat out twice and sit and visit. We TRIED to introduce her little Westie to the cat and what a disaster. The cat is fine with my dogs but I guess he wasn't sure if Jules was a dog or a dustmop and Nathan Jr. went berserk. He leapt to the top of the couch and then ran sideways across the wall, yes, I swear he was running with his feet on the wall. Around a lamp, across a speaker, miraculously slipping through knickknacks and the lamp without harming anything but then a crash down to a wooden coyote before up the hall and out the kitty door to the garage. The coyote didn't survive well. He's had his cracks and knicks before and they were worse this time. His ear is hanging by a thread and the crack in his neck is wider than it was. Hubby is unhappy about that and more unhappy that his kitty was freaked out. All weekend we kept the dog and cat separated but at one point the cat was out and Jules broke free, through the kitty hole-in-the-gate and had the cat treed within a second. Poor rattled cat is still creeping around the house in fear of that wild animal.

The family left and Mark came home and we watched the Super Bowl. What a great game for a change! Commercials were only so-so but the game was worth watching.

Four shifts at the cafe this week. I will have to sit down with the finances today and see what can be paid, what can be put off and when the money will run out!
