Nathan has an Adventure

I need to get back in the habit of updating now that I have a computer again. Whether I have the time is another matter.

Yesterday was an exciting and disappointing day. The weather was beautiful on the weekend for the first time in ages (or if it had been nice before I was too sick to appreciate it). I had tickets for the arts festival downtown. I was really looking forward to getting out of the house and doing something Austiny.

Then that dang cat went AWOL. Dammit! Nathan went out yesterday morning as usual. With the time change and Mark having come in late the night before, we slept extra late. When we got up there was no Nathan at the back door. We read the paper and drank coffee and no Nathan. We got dressed and got ready to go to the festival and still no Nathan.

We began walking around the block and calling for Nathan. We enlisted the help of the neighbor boys Matthew, Mason, Matthew and Leonard. They got on their bikes and looked high and low. Mark drove around and around. I visualized Nathan coming home and put in a call to the pet psychic. No Nathan. We finally ate some food and watched some TV just to get our mind off of it for a bit. Finally, about 5 o'clock, a neighbor we don't know called. Apparently they have a kitty door on their garage and Nathan availed himself of it. Then, he went into their laundry room and got trapped. They were out of town and didn't know any of this until they got home and found him. Funny, they had someone watching their cat who saw Nathan Jr. but just thought these people must have gotten a new cat.

So poor Nathan was trapped inside a strange house all day long. We were SO relieved to have him home and not have to worry anymore.

The drag was, the day was gone! I was so disappointed because now all Mark wanted to do was take a nap and work on drums. We did take a nap but then I asked if he would go with me to Starbucks. He politely did and then we ate some dinner at Guero's. That helped get me out of my funk a little bit.

Today Nathan did not get to have any adventures. We kept him locked up tight in the house.
