Taxes Due

I'm still on the porch with no makeup and wet hair and fuzzy eyes. I didn't even stay up to wait on Mark last night either. But I am draggin'. F'sure. I guess 6.5 hours of sleep will NOT do on a regular basis. The nap Sunday night made it doable yesterday, but maybe not today.

The CPA sent me the big number on our taxes yesterday. Over $4000. I'm scraping with all my might right now. Thank goodness we have the bank of Mom to turn to. We can't turn to his folks in times like these, so I'm ever grateful that my mother is willing to help. I have been stashing for quite a while, saving as much as I could, not paying too much to anything else that didn't have to go, but that won't cover half of it. And I wouldn't have THAT half if things hadn't suddenly gotten brighter with the job. It is a scary cycle. But I think there will be enough money in the account by the time a check could clear on Friday and we'll be okay. Hope.

I made a great casserole last night. Traditional King Ranch casserole (or Chicken Ole as I first learned it from my mother-in-law). I had the water chestnuts and everything and it was delicious. I only got a few bites since it wasn't cooked until midnight. I will have it for dinner tonight.

I got a lot of work done yesterday at the office as I put something together for this casino in Connecticut, but it is boring to describe, I guess. At least the day flew by. My neighbor was also working the front desk and that was fun to have her there. I think we are going to go out for a drink tonight.
