Monday morning beginnings

I'm out on the patio enjoying the morning aqir and the birds, but the couch (or something) smells mildewy and I hate that. Maybe we need to pull it out in the sunshine one afternoon to dry out.

I think I've gotten off to a good start for the week so far. I slept all the way to the alarm, which is good. It woke me up when it went off, not just the first beep, so I got a full (almost) 6 hours of sleep, I think. A little interruption when Mark came to bed, but that saved me from having to wake up and go to pee later (TMI!).

My pink roses out here are beginning to bloom and look lovely. This evening I will put some fertilizer on all the roses.

If I don't have any typing this evening, I plan on stopping at the grocery and then working some more on the garden. Maybe clean my office and get the leftover tax information together. If I do have typing, I might even put off the grocery until later in the evening when the crowd is gone.

Mark will have today off and I will let him arrange money for our cousin. She asked for a loan and we told her we would give it to her. I am uneasy about it, but I do want to be helpful and giving and she is a good kid and this is a good move for her. She's kind of whiny and needy, but she also has some big issues to deal with. I have my sources for loans so I want to be helpful like that.

I'm still worrying and waiting for the final information on my taxes. That is going to be a big big bill I know. He said possibly $5000, so I'm hoping he is way overestimating. Even $4000 would be a lot easier to swallow. I could manage $2500 from savings and stockpiles and stashes, but over that is going to have to be borrowed. So much for getting a good start on paying down bills with the new job. But I guess I would have this tax bill with or without a new job, so it is a very very good thing.

I may grab a CD to listen to on the way into work. Radio in this town just isn't really doing it for me. I enjoy NPR in the afternoon a lot, but Morning Edition seems to be all long stories about bad news that doesn't immediately effect me.

I guess I need to shove off. I enjoy writing and sitting and listening to birds and nature and the peacefulness here on the patio. But I look forward to work today, too. Sort of. I would prefer to be polishing up my Select programs, but today I need to work more on the DCM for this new casino and figure out what I'm going to do for them.
